Good and experienced Marketing candidates are hard to find, as so many people get confused with thinking Marketing is Sales. We know these roles are very different!
In our experience a good Marketing candidate has to usually hold a relevant degree and come with proven experience. Depending of the role, business and level, this experience doesn’t always have to be within a relevant industry, as a lot of the principles and skills are very transferable. As long as the candidate is bright, enthusiastic, interested in the new employers industry and is willing to listen and learn, then they will be a success.
We find that clients usually know exactly what they want out of a Marketing candidate, however, we always give examples of experience that we feel might be relevant.
